2.3 Application of formulas

By the end of this lesson you will be able to:

- apply the length, midpoint, slope, and circle formulas to solve problems

- you will be able to determine if a triangle has a right angle

- you will be able to classify a triangle as equilateral, isosceles, or scalene

Ontario Curriculum

Overall Expectations:

- solve problems using analytic geometry involving properties of lines and line segments

- verify geometric properties of triangles and quadrilaterals, using analytic geometry.

Specific Expectations:

- solve problems involving the slope, length, and midpoint of a line segment

- plan and implement a multi-step strategy that uses analytic geometry and algebraic techniques to verify a geometric property
